The Mazda 5 is a seven-seat people carrier which is perfect for family use but also attractive and enjoyable to drive, making it a very popular choice for those who want to combine practicality with style.
Ergonomic design
The Mazda 5 is a very versatile vehicle, with multiple seating modes and a seat storage compartment. It also has sliding doors, which mean that access when parked in a difficult spot is much easier than with traditional doors. The rear seats can be reached by folding a second row seat, meaning that loading both people and luggage are straightforward. Comfort is also a priority for the Mazda 5, with plenty of legroom for long journeys.
Technology
If you buy a Mazda5 in the Sport Nav range, you’ll find a TomTom navigation system fully integrated into the dashboard area, with a 5.8in touchscreen. Bluetooth and iPod devices can be used automatically and live updates are available, such as IQ Routes, advanced lane guidance and traffic searches.
Driving
The aerodynamics of the Mazda 5 are designed to reduce wind turbulence, while substantial cabin insulation ensures a tranquil journey experience. In more recent models, the front and rear suspension have been refined and the body structure increased in rigidity, to produce efficient and responsive handling.
Prices
The new Mazda 5 ranges from £18,165 for a 1.8 TS model, to £22,436 for a 1.6 Sport Nav Diesel model. In between lie the 2.0 Sport, 2.0 Sport Nav, 1.6 TS2 Diesel and 1.6 Sport Diesel models. The TS2 option adds features such as privacy glass, rear parking sensors and dusk-sensing auto headlights, while the Sport features include aesthetic touches such as a rear spoiler and a dark silver front grille. The Sport Nav category introduces the Mazda Navigation System.
